Tamer Ali
President
Tamer Ali is the founder and president of Digital Ignite. His background is in learning technologies, developing platforms for Software as a Service (SaaS), and leading large-scale enterprise IT initiatives.
Tamer founded digital ignite in 2005 after serving 6 years as an executive of a public elearning company, VCampus. At VCampus, Tamer Ali served as VP of Technology where he led all proprietary application development. He was instrumental in many successful new product launches, including award winning platforms for a Learning Management System, Course Management System, and Testing Engine.
While at VCampus, Tamer's time working with large professional membership organizations and global enterprise led him to recognize that the learning technology market was filled with monolithic, inflexible LMS platforms. His goal in starting DI was to address the key issues he saw: to offer a simple, powerful, and elegant learning technology platform.
As a founding team, Tamer worked with John Sun, also formerly of VCampus (then serving as Chief Technology Officer and Architect), to design and develop a learning platform that provided much more than learning management-- a platform that personalized the learning experience while also making it more accessible and relevant to the adult working professional. The team also designed the platform to scale for hundreds of thousands of users on-demand, and to be flexible enough to integrate with other systems and services.
Tamer is a family man so if he's not at the office, he's spending time with his beloved wife and 2 children. With 2 very young children, he doesn't have time for many hobbies, but when he can, Tamer enjoys reading non-fiction (especially the works of Malcolm Gladwell) and any news regarding technology. His favorite websites and tools include: PopURLS, NetVibes, Posterous, and of course, Facebook.
John Sun
Chief Technology Officer and Architect
The technology visionary and architect, John is a rare find: not only is a highly talented technologist, he is equally as talented in balancing and serving the business and client needs.
John has over 14 years of experience developed commercial grade applications for global usage. John's expertise is in building platforms that are scalable, flexible, and incredibly reliable; enabling significant growth and adoption of the technologies he's designed.
John is a graduate of the prestigious University of Maryland Computer Science program and has multiple years of experience working with large scale organizations in high profile work.
He is a founding member of Digital Ignite and leads all technology platform efforts, overseeing core platform work and client customizations and integrations.
A great analytical and design mind, John does enjoy "some" time away from the office. John loves the outdoors, traveling, camping, and is a a great cook.
Christina Turner
Vice President of Operations
Christina (Tina) brings over 16 years experience in consultancy and operational leadership with associations and for-profit learning organizations. She has deep expertise and practical experience in developing and implementing learning programs, including exam preparation systems. She combines a passion for learning excellence with a keen interest in the latest learning related technologies.
Tina has developed and installed large-scale in-house coaching systems, designed best-practice job processes as part of re-engineering efforts, acted as a senior professional development leader with P&L responsibilities, installed new learning & performance functions, managed a variety of LMS implementation projects using both proprietary and open-source technologies, overseen the development and market introduction of leading-edge multimedia exam prep tools and courses, and designed customized SAP and in-house specialized certificate programs.
In addition to her Bachelor of Commerce, she has taken many specialized programs in performance consulting, learning analytics & measurement, competency design and mentored with several top experts in her field. She has also completed a unique MA in Conscious Evolution from The Graduate Institute in the USA, deepening her understanding of human development across global cultures and within social systems. As VP of Operations, Christina oversees the implementation of all our client projects. All internal project teams report to Christina, and they ultimately are tasked with ensuring client success by meeting strategic and operational goals.
